- Summary: question about using opalvision and flicker fixer in same machine
- Keywords: amiga
-
- hiya,
-
- I've got an a2000 equipped with Opalvision. I also installed a
- flickerfixer using some kind of accessory so that it doesn't take up the
- video slot (occupied by OPal card). I've had the flickerfixer installed
- in the machine for several months, but have never used it.
-
- Now that I have appropriate monitor and cable, I remember something
- in the OPAL manual about not hooking anyting up to both the OPAL's RGB
- port and the Amiga's regular RGB port at the same time. There was a
- danger of damaging the system. My question is that if I'm using this
- extension card with my flicker fixer, am I actually using the Amiga's
- video circuits mentioned in the warning? Is the fact that I've been
- successfully running the computer with the card installed for months now
- an indicator that things will turn out fine?
-
- I just don't want to fry anything in these trying times of spare parts
- for the Amiga... Thanks for your help. Feel free to e-mail me with
- solutions.
